Aluminium is stronger making for thinner frames and larger windows |
Aluminium or PVCu?Grove Windows are happy to install windows, doors and conservatories in either material. Years of experience with both make us ideally positioned to meet either need. All our installations are covered with our standard 10-year insurance-backed guarantee. While a little more expensive than PVCu, aluminium frames are a lot stronger which means frames can be thinner making for larger glass areas and more light. Aluminium windows and doors have come a long way since the old days of the metallic silver look. Nowadays, aluminium frames can be fitted with a number of finishes including various woodgrains as well as any colour from the British Standard RAL colour palette. They also allow you to have a different finish on each side - so you could have, for example, a wood effect on the outside and white on the inside. Nowadays, 70% of our domestic installations and 90% of our commercial projects are aluminium. |
